Zandvoort, aka ‘Amsterdam Beach’ is the tourist hotspot on the North Holland coast. Feet in the sand, drink in hand, let go of everything and have fun. The unique combination of beach, village and nature. With 37 beach pavilions spread over 9 kilometres of beach, the offer is varied. From luxurious lounging with tapas in a trendy tent to a traditional portion of fish and chips on the promenade.
The village lies between two beautiful nature reserves. Zuid-Kennemerland National Park in the north and the Amsterdam Water Supply Dunes in the south. Zandvoort has a strong connection to the (larger) region: The location has two arterial roads, making Haarlem (also by bike), Amsterdam and Schiphol easily and quickly accessible. Zandvoort railway station offers direct connections to Haarlem and Amsterdam Central Station.
This historic seaside resort is undergoing a transformation. More and more highly educated young professionals and nature lovers are moving to this area, especially the southern part of Zandvoort. They still work in the city, but like to live close to the coast and nature. This development has a positive effect on the local economy and entrepreneurship in Zandvoort.
The location of Wave Beach Hotel at Badhuisplein is right on the border between the ‘new world’ on the south side and the northern area with its original inhabitants. Badhuisplein is right opposite the heart of the village. This square forms the main entrance to the beach from the village centre. The hotel is geared more towards the ‘south’ audience, but with its friendly, approachable character and catchy architecture, with facilities on the ground floor and on the beach for all, it will also be a welcome addition for locals.
